Phillips Exeter Academy
Exeter offers small classes -- twelve students and a teacher have discussion around an oval table -- and a large and rich curriculum of over 350 courses. Exeter prides itself on being a national and multicultural school. Students hail from 44 states and over 35 foreign countries, and 35 percent of the student body are students of color. Situated in a historic seacoast town, Exeter is one hour north of Boston, ten miles from the Atlantic Ocean and two hours away from the White Mountains. A faculty of 150 encourages students to develop independent judgment, leadership and concern for others. Exeter has $5 million in financial aid. Facilities include the largest high school library in the nation, a renovated music building and a state of the art athletic stadium with lights for school-wide events.
