Fall Heads Conference
ISANNE Fall 2017 Heads Conference
Diversity, Cultural Competency, and Inclusion During Challenging Times
Church Landing - Meredith, NH
November 8-9, 2017
Most Independent Schools are actively working to become more inclusive and thoughtful in their diversity efforts, but this work requires intentional and courageous leadership on many levels. Schools face financial, demographic, political, and even historical challenges to these initiatives. The conversation has a unique lens in Northern New England given the blend of day, boarding, and town academies in our region. The fall ISANNE Heads conference intends to challenge Heads of School to reflect upon what is needed in their own communities to move this important work forward during challenging times. Presentations will include:
- Director of Cultural Competency Michael Buensuceso and Head of School Greg Schneider from Berwick Academy speaking to one school's journey in launching a comprehensive Cultural Competency program over the past five years.
- Nicole DuFauchard, Head of the Advent School in Boston, addressing the complexity of leadership and diversity work for Heads of School.
- Multiple ISANNE Heads speaking to various aspects of diversity work within their own communities.
We hope to offer content that will stimulate new ideas while building a sense of collaboration in facing unique leadership challenges that have the potential to feel isolating and overwhelming.
