Chuck Lawton specializes in economic policy, fiscal impact studies and economic development strategy development. He has worked in private business, in state government and was a professor at the University of Maine at Farmington. He holds a Ph.D. degree from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and writes a weekly column on the Maine economy for the Maine Sunday Telegram. He was the project leader on all the TIF projects noted above, and has worked with state, municipal and business officials and organizations across the state. He has served as a member of the Consensus Economic Forecasting Committee for the State of Maine, of the Governor’s Commission on Maine’s Quality of Place, was a founding member of the Advisory Board of the New England Public Policy Center of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and is currently a member of the Board of the Maine Center for Creativity.
