Laurie Hurd is the Executive Director of ISANNE. She began her tenure July 2014 after four years at the Oldfields School in Maryland, where she was Director of Development. Previously, she had served as a consultant to ISANNE for four years, helping launch the ISANNELeads Program (a leadership development program for independent school administrators) and leading the organization’s efforts to better support female heads of school. Laurie served as Head of the Hyde School in Bath, ME from 2000-2008. Previously, she spent several years in the Hyde organization helping found a public magnate high school in New Haven, CT and Hyde's second boarding campus in Woodstock, CT. Laurie was an active member of ISANNE and served on its Board of Directors. She currently serves on NEASC's Commission on Independent Schools (the New England Association of Schools and Colleges), and she has chaired and served on several school accreditation teams. Laurie graduated from Bowdoin College and she lives in Bath, Maine. She enjoys biking and hiking in northern New England and visiting her three adult children on the "other" coast in Los Angeles.
