ISANNE 2020 Business Officers Conference
Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel ~ Portsmouth, NH
January 6-8, 2020
ISANNE is excited to announce the Business Officers Annual Conference at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel in Portsmouth, NH.
The Business Officers Executive Committee, led by Stephanie Beaudet, Director of Finance and Benefits Administration at Proctor Academy, has worked hard this year to bring you engaging, thought-provoking sessions, collaboration with like-professionals, and free time to enjoy Portsmouth!
Monday afternoon we will be holding a pre-conference session on security - registration for that session will be separate (but included in your registration fee) - please check the website next week for more information and to register.
Monday night you are free to make dinner reservations on your own – please contact Tedda if you’d like to be set up with a group.
Tuesday morning the conference kicks off with Kristen Carey Power, Senior Director of Membership & Business Development, Enrollment Management Association. In her presentation, Beyond Getting In: The Business of Enrollment, Kristen's session will include an overview of the financial trends and educational choices affecting independent schools, offering strategies to help leadership teams position their institutions in a market of rising competition.
Tuesday morning continues with two breakout sessions to choose from: The first, presented by Travis Horne and Michaela Scott of Borislow Insurance, Financial Wellness Linked to Physical Health and Wellbeing; and the second presented by Amber McGonis from Tyler, Simms & St. Sauveur and Stephen Solberg from Cardigan Mountain School, Sharing Approaches to the New FASB ASU 2016-14 Requirements.
Jay Stroud and Jim Mooney of NEASC will join us for an afternoon session to discuss Measures of Financial Health in Successful Schools as well as some new NEASC updates.
Next, Marcy Bauers from Fred C. Church Insurance will join us for Crisis Management Table Top Exercises. This interactive session will cover essential crisis management planning components. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about what their peers are doing in this regard, as well as share their own experiences. Attendees will be provided with guidelines and examples they can utilize to bring these valuable exercises back to their campuses.
We will close out the afternoon programming with one of two Cracker Barrel sessions – please come prepared with topics of interest.
Tuesday evening is our Corporate Partner Reception with raffle prize fun and the annual dinner.
Wednesday morning begins with a presentation from Travis Warren of Blackbaud, followed by our second Cracker Barrel session.
And Wednesday will conclude with Linda Johnson, Director, Litigation Department and Co-Chair of the Education Law Group at McLane Middleton, who will discuss Developments in the Law including Anti-trust and Independent Schools, New Overtime Regulations and Pay Equity.
