Founded in 1808, Bridgton Academy is the only college preparatory school in the country exclusively devoted to a one-year postgraduate program for young men. Our mission is to provide the opportunity for students to develop the academic skills, study skills, self-discipline and self-confidence necessary for college success. Our program is a transitional one designed to replicate the college experience and environment as much as possible, rather than to offer another year of high school, yet with more structure and support than that offered in college. The curriculum is broad, including twelve college courses for transferable credit, as well as the Academic Monitoring Program, and the Program for Academic Support (PAS) for a limited number of students with learning differences. Our athletic program is outstanding, with ten teams playing top level college junior varsity and prep school teams.
At Bridgton Academy, we offer our students an environment for growth, and we provide them with opportunities to gain a sense of accomplishment and achievement. The result is that out students graduate with self confidence, maturity, and, in most cases, more options than they had upon graduating from high school.
