High Mowing School
High Mowing School is a coeducational boarding and day Waldorf high school, located in southern New Hampshire about 55 miles northwest ofBoston.
The school offers a rigorous academic program that challenges a student’s intellect, imagination and social responsibility. Our faculty and students live and work together in a friendly and nurturing environment where each individual is recognized as unique but also seen in relation to others as part of a global community.
Our college preparatory academic program is integrated with a rich variety of arts. Academic courses include English, French, German, mathematics (pre-algebra through integral calculus), computers, history and social sciences and physical and life sciences. Arts offerings include drama, music, drawing, painting, eurythmy, pottery, weaving, woodworking and batik. The athletics program offers league competition in soccer, cross-country running, cross-country skiing and basketball, as well as recreational downhill skiing and snowboarding, volleyball, crew, fencing and archery.
Weekend activities, planned by students and faculty, include on-campus seasonal celebrations, parties and coffee houses and off-campus trips to everything from the local movie house to the Metropolitan Opera House inNew York. An active trekking program challenges students in the outdoors in fall, winter and spring. Projects Week involves students outside of the classroom in explorations across the U.S. and abroad. For students with language proficiency, there is an active international exchange program with European Waldorf schools.
