Holderness School is a small, traditional coeducational boarding and day school stressing balance in the education of the mind, body and spirit. Its challenging liberal arts curriculum is aligned with unique programs in student leadership, community service, interscholastic sports, the arts and the outdoors. Offerings of special note are Out Back -- a program in leadership and outdoor education that takes students into the White Mountains for 10 days each March -- and nationally recognized programs in alpine and Nordic skiing. With an enrollment of 265 and a student/teacher ratio of 7:1, Holderness allows each student to play many important roles in the operation of the School and the realization of his or her full potential. Ties between students and faculty are close, and Holderness teachers emphasize support in meeting in School's challenges.
