North Yarmouth Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school located in Yarmouth, Maine with an enrollment of 357 students, toddler to grade 12. The Academy serves 49 Maine communities and four countries. The rigorous academic program sets clear standards and high expectations in an environment that emphasizes values of mutual respect, trust, and community. North Yarmouth Academy is dedicated to the fostering of integrity, character, and intellect in its students. We are committed to bringing out the best in every child. The core curriculum is strengthened by an advisor system, small classes, 15 Advanced Placement courses in major disciplines, as well as strong student- teacher relationships. NYA offers Diplomas with Distinction in STEM; Global Citizenship; Music: Performance, Entrepreneurship, & Community; and Outdoor & Environmental Leadership. The Kauffmann Program for Environmental Writing & Wilderness Exploration seeks to educate students about the importance of wilderness and nature, with a focus on environmental thinking, writing, conservation, and wilderness travel. A strong sense of community is enhanced by our social service projects. Athletics or afternoon activities are required throughout the school year, and wilderness trips, publications, school government, and a variety of activities are also offered. Tuition varies by division. Upper School tuition is $29,525. Need based financial aid is available.
